About MU’s Recreational U5 - U13 Soccer League
Don’t miss an opportunity to join the fastest growing soccer club in the state of Minnesota. Over the last 4 years MU has seen growth in its traveling program from 23 to 56 teams and a recreational youth soccer program that has grown from 200 players to over 900 players.
Basics
MU’s Recreational Youth Soccer League provides an exciting atmosphere for over 900 boys and girls U5 through U13 ages that runs June 2 – July 26 at Pearl Park. The 70 team league offers a 15 game season along with a kick-off camp on June 2.
Coaching
The Recreation Soccer Program counts on parent coaches to hold practices and run games. This means we need at least one parent to volunteer to coach each team to ensure your child as a team to play on. We would like to thank the many parents who have signed up to coach in past years and we hope you'll volunteer to coach or assist in coaching again! You can sign up to coach during registration.
Coaches Meeting / Y-Module Clinic
For our Rec. coaches, there will be A MANDATORY COACH AND ASST. COACH MEETING. Date and time TBD. This meeting will prepare all coaches for the upcoming season. Kit Lowen, MU's Rec. admin. will be in attendance to discuss the upcoming season, the future of the program, and how to prepare recreation players and families to transition to our traveling program. Team rosters will be available to the coaches at this time. Immediately following the meeting will be a free Y-Module training. This Youth "Y" Module soccer coaching course is designed to introduce developmentally appropriate and age appropriate activities. Course content will include philosophy of coaching, characteristics of players, soccer injuries, team administration/risk management and modified laws. MU is covering the fee and all Rec. coaches are invited to attend.

Pearl Park Parents- Many volunteers needed on M/T/W/Th nights in June and July during games to help direct families to fields and answer questions.
