Where are the games played?
Games are played at Pearl Park in south Minneapolis.
All players should have their soccer ball clearly marked with their name, a water bottle, shin guards, and outdoor shoes or cleats.
How long is the season?
The season starts June 2, 2011 and ends July 26, 2011.
Are teams mixed gender and ages?
Boys and girls play on separate teams. Ages are U5 and then combined U6-U7, U8-U9, U10-U11 and U12-U13.
What day are the games played?
Each team plays two games per week. The daily schedule is TBD and will be either Mon/Wed or Tues/Thur.
- What time are the games played?
The time schedule is:
- 6:00, 7:00 or 8:00 PM. Game times for each age group will be out in May.
How many players are on the field?
MU summer rec league play is 6 per side.
How big is the field?
The U8-U13 teams play on fields that are approximately ½ the size of a regulation soccer field. The U5-U7 teams play on ¼ size fields.
Can I request to play with a friend?
Yes, there is a place to put ONE request during registration. We cannot guarantee that all requests will be granted though every attempt will be made.
Do I get a uniform?
Yes. Each player gets a full uniform (jersey, shorts and socks). Shin guards and cleats are not provided, but are recommended, especially for the U8-U13 players.
You do not need to select uniform sizes.
*Uniforms are issued at the Kick-Off Camp.
Do you use paid referees?
Yes. U8-U13 games are officiated by paid referees. U5-U7 are led by the coaches.
When is the Kick-Off Camp?
The Kick-Off Camp is Saturday, June 2nd at Pearl Park. Please arrive promptly at your starting time so players can meet their coach and team members and receive their uniform. Immediately following will be a free Rec. Clinic led by MU's professional trainers. The schedule for the day is:
- Girls: All ages from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM Boys: All ages from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM
*Uniforms are issued at the Kick-Off Camp. All players need to bring a soccer ball, filled water bottle, shin guards, and cleats (or tennis shoes). Sunscreen is also recommended.
What about practices?
It is up to the coaches, managers and parents of each team to decide when to have practices. Each team is different.
How much does it cost?
The fee for:
- U5-U7 is $110
- U8-U13 is $120

What is the registration deadline?
The registration deadline is May 1, 2012. Online registration is highly recommended. Late registrations are charged an extra $35 starting May 2 and are only accepted if space is available. All cancelled registrations will be charged a $35 fee . The day your payment is received is your registration date. Acceptance of registration is not a guarantee that the child will get on a team. When age groups fill up names of registered players will be placed on a wait list. If you are not able to register because the age group is full you can send an email to: minneapolisunited@yahoo.com to be placed on the waitlist.
