Minneapolis United’s Soccer Camps

Five great Camps

MU will offer five high quality, Minneapolis based camps led by Zafer and John Sylvester (MU’s Coaching Directors). There will be threee skills camps for 6 – 14 year olds and two Prep Camps for 11 – 18 year olds.

MU expects to have 100 attendees per camp.
This is the 5th year of offering camps. Register now to join in the fun!!!

Skill-Builder clinics

FUNDAMENTALS Focus!

MU will offer three separate Skill-Builder sessions (one week in each June, July, August). Focus will on dribbling, passing, trapping and shooting technique - the FUNDAMENTALS. Developmentally appropriate teaching groups will be formed so that all participants are adequately challenged and HAVE FUN!!! Zafer Kilickan (former MN Thunder Camp Director) will lead these sessions. These camps will appeal to kids 6 years old and up.

These skills camps will feature:

  • Highest level fundamental teaching
  • Discounted registration fees of $130 per week
  • Your kids will learn from and be evaluated by MU’s Coaching Directors
  • Foster friendships with other MU players that your kids will be playing with for years
  • Fun!!!!! (water fights, dress up day, awards for achievements and more!!!)

Camps are from 9–noon at Pearl Park in Minneapolis. (Portland Ave S. and E 53rd St.)

Fall Season Prep

Shape up for Travelling and High school Tryouts

These camps will be held just before MU and high school tryouts. Focus will be on :

  1. best preparing participants for what they will see at tryouts
  2. getting multiple repetitions at those areas most critical for the evaluations
  3. and fitness.

Greg Wheaton (Boys) and John Sylvester (Girls) will run tryouts for MU and, likewise, lead these camps. These camps will be for children that will be U11 and up starting in fall, 2008.
