Any other year MU would be excited to announce that Tryouts start in three weeks and that registration is now open. This year, tryouts are being announced only after many discussions, meetings, and guidance from health professionals. MU is still completing the final details and doing so with the utmost care and diligence towards a safe and healthy environment. And, MU will continue to closely follow guidance and/or changes from the MN Dept. of Health and the CDC. The plan for tryouts may change as we move through July. MU is prepared to make adjustments, including canceling if needed.

If you are not comfortable with attending tryouts, that is solely your decision. Performance at tryouts is just a part of building an accurate roster. Placement is also based on the entire year/season’s worth of work by a player. As with any other year, if a player is unable to attend for reasons (sickness, injury, vacation, etc.), trust that MU’s staff will place your child on the appropriate team. MU’s professional coaching staff and Directors of Coaching have accurately created rosters for years.
Regardless of attendance, each player must register to be considered for placement on a team. The cost to do so remains $55. When registering, options are available for detailing your plan of attendance. If you need help registering, please contact MU’s Registrar, Trina Kramer. Her email address is Registrar@minneapolisunited.org.
Between now and tryouts, a detailed schedule and plan with changes will be communicated. Just a few new procedures: Staff and evaluators will be in masks. Disposable and uniquely numbered bibs will be used. And, in order to spread out, MU will have multiple check-in points and tryout times will be expanded to include the early afternoon on weekdays.
